Mickey Truck Bodies has completed a new liftgate installation facility, the first phase of Mickey’s expansion program at its High Point, NC, manufacturing complex.
The 20,000-sq-ft liftgate installation facility is located on the 13-acre site the Mickey purchased in 2015. It houses a total of 15 bays for liftgate installations and chassis preparation. Liftgates are one of the most popular accessories on Mickey’s truck bodies. Mickey is an authorized installer for all major liftgate brands.
The next phase of the High Point expansion project will be the construction of a 70,000-sq-ft assembly plant. Upon completion, the new state-of-the-art manufacturing center will more than double the capacity of Mickey’s existing business to over 15,000 units a year.
“This assembly plant will be the most automated manufacturing plant of its type in the country,” says Dean Sink, Mickey President. “The equipment and fixtures we will be using in this facility are currently in development and will set new standards for safety, quality and efficiency.
“We are very excited about the growth and opportunities the new liftgate facility offers. Grow or die. That’s always been the mantra of successful businesses. At Mickey, our record of growth over the past several years has been the result of the 3 P’s: growth through people, growth through products and growth through places. Mickey continues to grow through all three areas and we want to celebrate our past and future success with the teammates who make that possible through hard work and dedication every day.”
